How Much Does a PIP Lawyer Charge?
How much does a PIP lawyer charge the doctor?-Not all PIP lawyers charge the same rate. Some over-charge clients by keeping a percentage of the money they collect. My office never charges a percentage of the medical benefits owed to the doctor. My office (and many others) only keeps the interest and the penalty that the insurance company has to pay as the fee.
Don’t let lawyers keep a percentage of your money.
You worked hard for that money.
Example- if $1,000 is collected for a doctor here is what you can expect
from my office:
1. A check for $1,000 paid directly to the medical provider. My office does not keep a percentage of this money.
2. If the money comes in from a demand letter then the insurance company will write a second check payable to my office for interest on the $1,000 at 6% ($60) and for a penalty at 10% ($100) for screwing around.
3. If the money comes in from a lawsuit then the insurance company will
write a second check payable to my office for whatever my attorney’s fees are.
The doctor will never write a check to my office.
The doctor will never owe my office money.
