State Farm Says It Will Not Require EMC Diagnosis In Order To Get $10,000 In PIP Benefits
Other PIP lawyers have forwarded this letter around so I figured I would post. State Farm sent out a letter recently stating that (for now) State Farm will not enforce the requirement that there be an EMC diagnosis. State Farm will also reimburse for massage and acupuncture. This is due to the Judge Lewis decision.
This is interesting because State Farm is the only company to do this. Also, State Farm is known as the insurance company that fights every PIP case tooth and nail.
- No- this doesn’t apply to every insurance company– only Snake State Farm.
- No- I don’t know if State Farm is sending this letter to the entire state or just to Leon County.
- Yes- State Farm can change their mind at any time!
- Yes- State Farm can ask for money back if the Judge Lewis appeal turns in their favor.
I still recommend you act like you are under the new pip law for now! Get
the patient an EMC diagnosis. Perform/bill manual therapy instead of massage.
The Judge Lewis appeal is far from over.
You don’t want to owe state farm $7,500 for every pip patient they paid you on.
